Hello Bloggers!! OK now, does anyone really know where all the time goes? Although we lost a week in January with the snow, it still seems to be flying quickly. Here we are about to enter February and many of us are thinking Valentines. Unbelievable!! This is my year to turn 60. How has that happened?? It's tough wrapping my head around that one. I certainly do not feel it mentally but physically, well, I suppose it could be better but then again, I do count my blessings. There is way more to be grateful about than anything else so I think I will just keep moving and make the best of it.
Speaking of all that, prayers please for Steve Harris who underwent a 12-hour surgery on Friday. He is doing OK but needs all we can send his way. Many of you know Dotti Harris from the shop. Steve and Dotti are about to embark on a journey like none other before. As Steve begins to heal, his medical team will be able to provide more information and, as Steve and Dotti are able, will be able to have more direct contact. In the meantime, checking in at www.caringbridge.org, we are able to follow progress in the journals available at that site for Steve Harris. I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I am sure many of you would want to know.
A shout of prayers also for Bobbie Mosher, Mimi's Crop Circle, who underwant several hours of surgery today. The last word from her granddaughter, Mellissa, is that Bobbie is resting comfortably and looks forward to a full recovery. Although Bobbie is suppose to lay low for a while, she hopes to make it to the shop sometime next week. My words of wisdom to Bobbie are to "stay home". She may just be afraid that her staff will get along very well without her. hee hee Get well Bobbie!!
Geeezzzz, aren't I full of good news!! ..... and I'm sure there is more, probably lots more given that we all have our own story. Stay well everyone. I am hoping to include more exercise in 2012. That's a goal in any case. Check in with me in a month to see how I am doing. I never make resolutions but goals I can work with.
I spent a good part of today at Mimi's getting the Monday demo completed and prepped. It was loads of fun and we hope that those who attended had fun also. Working with vellum and one of Tsukineko's Brilliance inkpads, we created an A-2 background on the vellum and then converted it into an A-2 greeting card. Although, participants had several to choose from, most selected a Valentine theme (wonder why?). Take a look below to see the end result. Thank you Allen Parker, resident photographer and also catchall for everything else at Mimi's that requires a computer, for the photo. It is always fun to be able to visual see a project versus just talking about it. If you are able, please join us on Mondays from 4:00 to 6:00 where each week we explore a technique which can be used in both scrapbooking or rubber stamping. All in all, it is just fun, so, please join us in the fun!
I need to call it an early night. I have an early start tomorrow and a long day so sweet dreams to all of you and until the next time....... hugs to all - Doris
Moonlight White from Tsukineko's Brilliance line and two rubber stamps were used to create the hearts in this photo. Depending upon the design, one could color in the image (using marker of choice) from the backside of the card as well. The results are stunning and so easy to do. Stamping and coloring from the backside are key to achieving this subtle look. Add some ribbon to attach your vellum and, voila, instant success!!
Well according to a man named Stephen King. Time has been eaten by the langoliers.
