Hello there bloggers!! My title "Sweet Success" makes reference to several things that have been going on. This is only a recap on some of what this is.
First, I was so bummed the other day. My television went out and all I could get was the sound. Although I had gone without TV for years, I have recently become a TV fan as something to really veg in front of. Anyway, I thought I would put it on my priority list for purchasing if I reached a point where I might have some money. (Fat chance but one can hope). Anyway, to make a long story short, in a weeks time, I learned of 3 others whose TVs had also lost the picture. I thought just how bizzare is that? Someone at the shop overheard the conversation and said that the same thing had happened to them. They suggested unplugging the entire unit from Comcast and plugging it all back in. I am here to tell you that IT WORKED. I since passed it on to a friend and it worked for her as well. So..... the moral of this story is that if you lose the picture on your TV, unplug and you might be as lucky as some of us to get it back. Good news indeed!!
Another sweet success this week is getting through all the gruelling days of closing up the shop in Issaquah. There are a ton of folks who took part in it as well and far too many to mention here. I would, however, credit much of the success to my sister, Alice, who worked tirelessly with me all the while being on "vacation". I am truly blessed.
It was not an easy decision but became a very necessary one. I so much appreciated all of you who were able to stop by during the last few days. It was so nice to spend some time catching up on news and just saying hello. It was quick and it was short but satisfying in that we did not have to linger for long which I think was best for most folks (it really was best for me). We shared tears, we shared hugs, and we shared many memories. All of these I will treasure forever. We had a wonderful 14-year run and I know that these 14 years brought many of you into an artful life so I hope this will always be a part of who you are. I appreciate all that you have done for myself, my family, and the shop during these 14 years as well. I will be forever grateful.
It certainly is not the end. How we will be back I do not know but rest assured that we will be. Never in the capacity of a brick and mortar but definitely some internet presence of some sort so stay tuned. Remember that we may have closed both of the storefronts but we have not closed Friends and Company.

I will miss the storefronts but I think I got the best part of those stores, I came away with a friendship that will last a lifetime. Thanks Doris for all you did for me. I will forever be grateful to you and know that you are the best part of Friends and Company!! Love ya.

Doris, I am so sorry I wasn't able to come by, but know I love you. Now that you have some time on your hands, we actually get together anywhere but the store. Hugs to you and the best always
