Greetings Bloggers!! I have been wanting to blog for several days now but keep forgetting to take some photos I want to share with you on projects we have done of late at the shop. The camera goes to the shop and back home, goes to the shop and back home, and on and on. The brain does not totally engage these days!
Speaking of the brain, I am very happy to report that I am feeling so much better and had not realized just how poorly I had been feeling. The meds seem to have taken ahold and I can just imagine that the tumor is shrinking like it should be. I am extremely optimistic that this trend will continue and I could possibly avoid any surgery if what I am feeling proves to be true. Of course only an MRI will let us know and that is not scheduled until later in the year. The medical team wants to see if the meds are having any positive impact on the shrinkage and need time to be able to tell. All in all, life is GOOD!
Something else I have recently discovered is Melatonin. What a wonder!! I am taking a 5mg tablet just before bedtime and what a difference that has made in my life. I do not have stock in Melatonin (across the counter) but if you have any difficulty in sleeping, give it a try. It has made a HUGE difference for me as far as sleeping goes. I fall asleep quickly, sleep all night, and get up (before the alarm goes off) without any effects that a sleeping pill can have on you in the morning. GREAT find!!
OK now that is all the good news. Other news that I hate to refer to as "bad" involves the shop. I've been given the sale numbers for 2011 just recently and it's a wonder that we have been able to do much in purchasing power. Sales are extremely sluggish and have not improved in the last 6 months. I suspect that the economy has a lot to do with it but, like Monkey Love and perhaps also Unique Creations, we cannot continue to function in this capacity. With this in mind, the store is not likely to sell so.... what that means for us is to have someone sublease (or a totally new lease) so that we are able to gracefully move on like some of our comrads have had to do. It also may be the end of an era but who would know that. I have said as recently as last week that I do not believe this environment to be dead. I strongly believe it has much to do with the economy. Hanging on is not, however, likely for us. Not sure what the future holds so please keep checking with us. In the meantime, come and shop and give us signs that you are out there. We'd love to see you stop in!
OK enough babble for one blog. I'll get those photos done and blog again soon. I am adding a Migraine Monday class each week so that may keep me blogging each week. I would love that and hopefully you would also. The Migraine Monday class (M&M) will be held each Monday beginning on 8 August 2011 with two sessions - noon to 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and will be shoebox style. Fee is $5.00 for two card projects. A reservation is encouraged so that we have enough packets for everyone. Drop ins are welcome but are not guaranteed a package. We will make extras but these will be on a first come, first served basis.
OK - that's a wrap!! Night night all - Hugs - Doris
