Greetings Everyone!! Just a quick hello as I am totally pooped after such an explosive Grand Opening weekend. It was what I would call a HUMUNGOS success. Many thanks to the many of you who participated in one way or another to make this weekend all that it was. It was wonderful to have all the helping hands that just "popped" up exactly when those hands were needed.
I am especially grateful to our fabulous Issaquah staff, Kathy Fox and Yvonne Grimes, who made sure the party kept going. If you happened to mention just how great the store looked, well, it's all about Kathy and Yvonne. I would be remiss if I did not mention Karen Lockhart who not only demo'ed but also was the celebratory ribbon cutter for the ribbon cutting ceremony (see photo below). Lisa Lee from Inchie Arts shared her wealth of information on inchie arts with many of you as well. Others I wish to thank include Maria Loomis (http://velvetinkcafe.blogspot.com) for her Stampscapes artistry and Susan Holton, who coincidentally works for Tsukineko, but came as Susan to share her large knowledge of inks with all of us.
Sunday's lineup included Lindy Combs who teased us with a taste of Memory Box (Dave Breathauer, Owner, Memory Box, himself will be at the Issaquah location on 6 June) with a GREAT make-n-take, our very own Kathy Fox and Yvonne Grimes sharing their Cuttlebug and Cricut skills with all of us also in a make-n-take. Kayla Stull commanded the Polished Stone Technique for only a few minutes before every one realized how long it has been since this technique was first introduced. From there, it was anyone's game while trying all sorts of "stuff" with both alcohol and dye based inks. Messy but great fun!! Thanks also for my beloved sister, Alice, who helped out receiving orders as demos were happening and also helping out at the cash register. We could not have done it without her.
Both days were a total blast. I hope you all enjoyed the camaraderie, food, cupcakes (compliments of The Sugar Rush Baking Company ((206) 937-1495)), and the many door prizes (one every 15 minutes) that were all donated by our fabulous manufacturers and distributors. It was EXPLOSIVE!!
Can you tell that we had a good time. Here is only one of the pics. More to come as the week progresses!! I'm off to blow some much needed zzzzzz's. THANK YOU EVERYONE!! You are all some of the best!!
Hugs - Doris
