Merry Christmas Everyone!!

Holiday Greetings!!  It is officially 25 December 2008 and I am very excited to be at this point.  The weather has been challenging these days and a day spent with family and friends will be most welcomed.  I can hardly wait to get started and hoping that the snow stays put for a while!!  I would hate to miss the playing card challenge with Alice, Leo, and Kayla that has now become a tradition.

Today's blog is basically to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.  Please keep it safe, fun, and all that you want it to be.  Friends and Company has many opportunities for you in 2009 so stay tuned for more information to come following the holidays.  Have a FABULOUS holiday.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!!

Greetings Everyone!!  Need I remind anyone that Christmas is less than a week away.  It's been a roller coaster ride all week with the weather.  If any of you are like me, well, there is some shopping to be done and this weather is just not cooperating.  It's cold but I must admit that the snow is beautiful. 

The snow has, unfortunately, caused lots of havoc at the shop as well.  We cancelled our Holiday Open House last week as well as 4 classes in the course of this past week.  We were also closed one of the days so it really has been rocky!!  I hope that if you have had in mind to stop at the shop that you are able to.  I know this is an important time of the year for getting all those last minute errands done.  We still have time to mail gift certificates so get your call in to us today if possible if that is what you had in mind.

We also had some very sad news delivered to us this week.  It came as a real shocker in that it was totally unexpected.  I am very saddened to report that our beloved Olive Holstein passed away on Wed.  Olive was a major player at the shop and will be sorely missed.  Many of you know Olive because she is the beloved mother to Diane Walter and Cathy Varner both of whom are also major players at the shop.  Diane has worked at the shop since the first day we opened our doors and continues to do so today.  Olive was always available to us for post office runs, bank runs, coffee runs, and much more.  She loved rubber stamping and getting together with friends to do so.  She was loved by so many people and now will be an angel to all of us.  Farewell my dear Olive.

Although the weather may not permit us to even open, we'll attempt at offering 33% off of all our holiday rubber stamps as Sunday's pick for this coming Sunday, 21 Dec 2009.  This is the offer we had made at our Holiday Open House and given that we needed to cancel, I thought it would be appropriate to give it another shot.  We continue to have a reasonable selection so stop in, weather permitting, and take a look.

Holiday Open House Cancelled/Postponed

Greetings Everyone!!  If you are reading this and have not heard, then I'm glad that I thought to post it here.  Because of the snow, my Holiday Open House is cancelled/postponed until who knows when.  It's getting thick out there and it's only just a little past midnight.

Bummers because I was so looking forward to a day full of fun and chocolate.  The chocolate is not melted yet so.... we'll put it in a safe place.

Naughty, Naughty, Naughty

Greetings Everyone!!  Seems I've been "naughty" or so I'm told.  Never did blog for Sunday's pick.  I guess I can sum it up to "Life Happens".  It's been very busy with one thing or another and, although there is no real excuse, I just have not been paying enough attention to some of the priorities.

In any case, to make up for my "naughtiness", how about when you visit the shop anytime this week, just ask for 15% off your entire purchase.  Seems like a fair enough deal and just in time for some of that holiday shopping.  This offer will be good through Friday, 12 December 2008. 

A reminder that on Sunday, 14 December 2008, we are hosting our holiday open house where, for the first time ever, Dave Breauther, Memory Box, will be available to wow you with his make-n-take and whatever else might be up his sleeve.  We are also very pleased to welcome Jeff Saad, who represents Creative Imaginations, Bo Bunny, and a host of other incredible manufacturers.  Jeff also has a make-n-take in mind for Sunday's activities.  Both Dave and Jeff begin at noon so come early. 

We are also happy once again to have Sandy Huff, Jean Mendel, Lindy Combs, and Diane Radischat share with all of you their incredible talent with a series of make-n-takes just in time for the holidays.  No telling what is up their sleeves either.  Should be very fun.

Debbie Royer, our resident chef, will be hosting our table of edibles which will, of course, include the popular chocolate fountain.  Can't wait to dip into that yummy chocolate stuff.  Bananas, cookies, pretzels, and so much more await your dipping talents!!  Oh so so good!!
